Blogs in the Classroom

There are many ways in which a blog may be incorporated into the classroom setting. With younger students, blogging is effective as either a resource that is created by the teacher or as a class activity; older students may be expected to create their own blogs. The following are a few ways in which blogs may effectively be used.
  • To priovide announcements and draw attention to upcoming events
  • To providing links and assignment details to students
  • A picture book of class activities
  • A record of daily classroom activities (great for parents and absent students)
  • A student-created log of fieldtrips
  • An opportunity for students to share work and comment on classmate work
Now it is your turn to comment on or suggest additional ways to implement blogs into the classroom! To do so, leave a comment on this post.

I plan on having students write a reflection on each class project through creating a new post on their individual blogs. I will then be able to comment on their thought process. They can choose to share their reflections with as many or few of their classmates as they wish.
